Peace
Gardens
This
56-page eBook provides construction techniques for the peace
designs I've been making for my own garden this summer. The first is a large
heart:

Next
a large peace symbol...

...followed
by smaller versions of the heart and peace symbol.
These have been curing
in the shaded area next to my house. So far so good! I'd been concerned that
the heart design might be too top heavy to stand on its own, so I'm delighted
to see that it's standing and it's sturdy even with the exceptionally strong
winds we've been having.

I've enjoyed watching these vines grow all the way to the tops
of these tufa trellises. These trellises have seed bead wire imbedded so
the plants have something to grab onto. How is that going to work?
This wire looks attractive, but it
might be too thin to hold up for very long. On my next creation
using this "Tufa Trellis" technique (perhaps a kitty shape
instead of that heart shape?) I'll use some stronger wire. (See below.)

And here's that kitty bird feeder
holder I was dreaming about earlier. I inserted wire that is plenty strong
to hold some of those seed cake holders. She (my kitties are always girls)
was constructed using the same technique described in Hypertufa 901 for the
heart pictured above. The one thing that's different is that I flipped the
rod used on the inside because I plan to insert this rod into another taller
rod rather than inserting it into the ground as I've done for the heart pictured
above. This kitty is going to rest atop one of those tall poles described in
Hypertufa 601 for making squirrel-proof bird feeders.
Next spring we'll do a bit of rearranging and she'll emerge as a Tufa Trellis,
her winter work of feeding the birds done.

This kitty is now positioned atop
a tall tufa pole right outside my kitchen window. Already the chickadees and
the woodpeckers are entertaining me while they fill their little bellies. I
usually don't hang out seed cakes until it's much colder, but you know
what it's like to have something new. You want to put it to use right away!

And
lastly,
instructions for making mini-birthbaths with designs of your own. If you
can create it on your computer screen you can transfer the design to a
mini-birdbath. Hypertufa 901 shows you how to do that. The eBook also
includes several pages of ready to print or paint artwork such as the examples
shown here.
Here in northwestern
Wisconsin we have a drought situation, so all of the critters that hang out
in my gardens have been most appreciative of these new little birdbaths and
water dishes that I've been putting out this summer for them to use.
You can be naughty
or nice with your designs. You can be left, right, or center. You can make
your personalized birdbaths say whatever you want them to say!
