HANDCRAFTED JEWELRY

So lightweight & comfortable, you'll forget you're even wearing this unique jewelry!

Squirrel-Proof Bird Feeders & Tall Totems Too!

Please don't pity the squirrels. This one looks kind of sad and lonely, but he and his friends are not going hungry. Honest. Although they haven't figured out how to climb up to all of those feeders at the top of the pole — thank heavens! — there are plenty of seeds that fall to the ground from the five tall squirrel-proof feeders I've made so far. The birds are happy, the squirrels are happy, and I'm happy!

You can be happy too when you follow the guidelines in Hypertufa 601,  a 13-page pamphlet giving step-by-step instructions for making all of the designs pictured on this page. You can use either hypertufa or that pre-mixed "concrete in a bag" to make the base.

Use this squirrel-proof pole to hang the bird feeders you already have and the ones you'd like to have if only you had a place to keep them safe from those hungry squirrels.

Hypertufa 601 gives detailed step-by-step instructions for a variety of bird feeder and totem elements, including how to construct a unique pole that:

  • The squirrels can't climb
  • You can use to hang and mount multiple feeders
  • You can move around your yard

It's windy out there today!

A visiting neighborhood bear took one of these feeders down last summer,

but so far the winds have never toppled them.
